5월 19일 일본에서 온 특별한 손님과 함께 멋진 행사를 했다.

얼마 전에 한 일본 여성이 먼저 에이본 관광여행사를 통해 영국 관광을 하러 오고 싶다며 연락을 해왔고, 결국엔 우리와 함께 이번 행사를 같이 하게 되었으며, 관광 이상의 의미 있는 일을 하게 된 것을 기뻐했다.

그분은 판매용으로 일본 물품들을 많이 가져오셨고 쓰나미 구호 행사를 돕기 위해 직접 만든 수공예품들도 가져오셨다. 19일 날 행사에 앞서 우리는 몇 가지 공예 워크샵을 진행했으며 함께한 사람들은 그분과 함께 공예품을 만드는 것을 정말로 즐거워했다.

또한 쓰나미 구호 행사 준비를 하며 지역 봉사단체와도 관계를 맺게 되었다.

다른 여러 나라에서 온 사람들과 같은 목표를 가지고 함께 일할 수 있다는 것은 매우 특별한 일이라고 생각되었다, 행사를 마치고 송별 파티를 할 때 우리 모두는 문화와 종교를 넘어서 하나님 아래 같은 형제 자매라는 것을 느꼈다.

Japanese craft and Tsunami Appeal event
On 19th/May, we had a lovely event with a special guest from Japan.

A Japanese lady contacted me sometime ago initially for the purpose of visiting the UK for sightseeing via my tourist business but finally ended up doing the
event together with us. She was happy to do something very meaningful that went beyond sightseeing.

She brought a lot of Japanese goods for a sale and her own crafts for helping our event. We had a few craft workshops prior to the event on 19th. Some people
really enjoyed making crafts with her.

I was really impressed with her volunteer’s spirit and because of this event,some local volunteers’ groups became involved with us. People from many different
countries could working together for the same purpose is a very special.

When we did a farewell party for her, all of us felt same way that we are all brothers and sisters under one God beyond our cultures and religions.
