"진정한 화해란 무엇인가? 폴란드와 러시아의 불편한 역사적 관계"

여성연합 러시아 본부는 지난 9월 7일부터 9월 12일까지 폴란드의 수도인 바르샤바의 평화대사관과 헬싱키 인권재단에서 ‘평화의 다리: 폴란드-러시아 자매결연’ 행사를 가졌다.

폴란드와 러시아는 역사적으로 불편한 관계에 있으며, 이에 올가 회장(WFWP러시아)과 알렉산드라 회장(WFWP폴란드)은 둘의 역사적 관계에 대해 좀 더 이해하고 회복시키기 위한 시간이 필요하다고 생각하여 자매결연 행사를 진행하게 되었다. 소비에트 연방공화국 정권 당시 주변국에 입혔던 피해에 대해 회개하는 의미로 피해국인 폴란드에서 행사를 진행하게되었다. 40명의 폴란드인과 12명의 러시아인이 참석한 이번 행사는 자매결연을 비롯한 두 개의 프로그램과 역사 현장견학으로 이루어졌다. 참석자들은 이번 행사를 통해 서로의 역사에 대해서 좀 더 이해하고, 소비에트 정권의 피해가족들을 만나서 마음을 터놓고 소통하며 화합할 수 있는 시간이 되었다.

WFWP Russia Headquarters held the ‘Bridge of Peace: Establishment of Sisterhood Between Poland and Russia’ event from September 7 to 12 at the Peace Embassy in Warsaw, the capital of Poland, and the Helsinki Human Rights Foundation.

Poland and Russia are in an uncomfortable relationship in terms of history, based upon which President Olga Vakulinskaya (WFWP Russia) and President Alexandra Skonieczna (WFWP Poland) decided that they needed to take the time to have a better understanding of the historical relationship between the two nations and to restore it, and thus they decided to hold the establishment of sisterhood event. With the significance of atoning for the damage inflicted on the neighboring nations by the Soviet Union during its governance of these nations, the event was held in Poland, one of the victim nations. The event, attended by forty Polish women and twelve Russian women, consisted of two programs, including the establishment of sisterhood and a field trip to historical sites. The event provided an opportunity for the participants to understand a little more about each other’s history and also to meet with families victimized by the Soviet administration and to hold heart-to-heart communication with them and restore harmony with them.
