중동평화회의

이번 제 14차 중동여성평화회의는 2010년 5월 11일부터 14일까지 키프러스 라나카에서 20개국을 대표하는 70여명의 여성 지도자들이 참석하여, 전세계의 평화건설과 분쟁방지를 위한 여성들의 역할의 중요성에 대하여 강조하는 행동을 취하기로 결정했다. 회의의 주제는 이었다. 키프러스의 영부인 엘씨 크리스토피아씨가 행사의 막을 열었고, 회의의 마지막에는 각 나라의 평화 활동가이자 지도자들인 참가자들이 전 세계 여성을 위한 호소문을 작성 및 동의 하였다.

14th Annual Women’s Conference for Peace in the Middle East

Representing 20 countries, 70 women at the 14th Annual Women’s Conference for Peace in the Middle East held in Larnaca, Cyprus, on 11-14 May. 2010, decided to take action by stressing to all women around the world the importance of their role in peacebuilding and preventing conflict. The conference series is sponsored by the Women’s Federation for World Peace International and the Women’s Federation for World Peace Japan. The First Lady of Cyprus Mrs. Elsie Christofia opened the proceedings. After much discussion and input, the participants, all peace activists and leaders in their nations, wrote and agreed upon an appeal to all the women of the world.
