2011년 3월8일 오전, 케냐 여성연합과 국가어린이복지단체 공동 주관으로 기념행사를 카욜 소셜 홀에서 개최 하였다.

초대 손님으로는 여성연합 간부들 및 카욜 지역 경찰관, 노동당 간부, 인권단체 등에서 참석하였다.

수잔 콘 회장(케냐 여성연합)은 여성연합의 비젼과 철학을 소개하고, 리더십 경영 세미나에 참석하였던 여성 지도자들에게 수료증, 여성단체들에게 ‘희망의 콩 씨앗’을 전달하는 시간을 가졌다.

또한 정부를 대표하여 참석한 지역 경찰관 및 강연자들은 국가의 평화 증진을 위하여 여성들 스스로가 역량을 강화하기를 진심으로 기원해 주었다.

이어서 참석자들은 여성들의 성취와 업적을 축하하기 위한 노래와 댄스로 행사를 마감했다.

WFWP Kenya - International Women's Day Report — Kayole Celebrations

March 8, 2011, the WFWP Kenya in collaboration with St. Thaddeus Child Welfare Society organized the celebration of International Women's day at Kayole Social Hall from 10:00 a.m. until 1:30. Invited guests were Kayole District Officer Mr. Ondachi, the Labor Dept. officer of Kayole, representative of Maendeleo ya Wanawake Embakasi Mrs. Grace Akinyi, human rights activist Pamela, and the WFWP Kenya officers.

WFWP Kenya chair Mrs. Susan Kone gave the introduction citing WFWP vision and philosophy; she also issued certificates of participation to women leaders who had earlier participated in a leadership and management seminar, and presented a donation of bean seeds to a women's group.

Other speakers including the district officer who represented the Kenya government praised the work being done by women in efforts to empower themselves and to promote peace in the nation.

This day ended with plenty of song and dance in celebrations of women's achievements.
