2011년 2월 24일 60여명의 여성연합 회원 및 임원들이 참석한 가운데 뉴욕 러빈 라이프 러닝 센터에서 세계평화 여성연합 문난영 회장의 특강이 개최되었다.

문난영 회장은 우리가 진실로 여성의 시대, 새로운 시대에 살고 있음을 강조하며 한국 및 아시아 또한 다른 여러 장소에서 수천명의 여성에게 지난 몇 년 간 강의 해온 ‘Herstory’ 의 개요를 식구들과 나누었다.

특히 종교적 역사에서 여성이 사회적 약자로 취급되어졌음에도 그동안 집중되어지지 않았던 성서 역사에서의 여성들의 중요한 역할에 대해 강조하였다.

또한 본 연합 창시자이신 총재님의 가르침과 더불어 12살 이후부터 지금까지 직접적으로 깨우치고 키워주셨던 이념과 사상을 풀어놓았다. 이에 참석한 회원들은 총재님에 대한 이야기를 들으면서 감동을 받았다.

이에 미국여성연합 회원들은 총재님의 사랑과 여성연합 최고 선배로서 심정을 공유하고 나누어준 문난영 회장님께 감사의 인사를 전했다.

WFWP USA-Introducing "Herstory" Lecture Series Visit by WFWPI President Dr. Lan Young Moon to New York

It was an afternoon to remember on February 24, 2011, as some 60 women — mothers, sisters, and young women — as well as some gentlemen, gathered at the Lovin' Life Learning Center on 43rd Street in NYC to warmly welcome our WFWPI president.

In her introduction, Dr. Moon emphasized that we live in a truly new era and age — the era of women. She gave a brief overview of her lecture series, entitled “Herstory," which she has been sharing with thousands of women in Korea and elsewhere in Asia over the last several years. The lecture content began by recounting history from the very beginning, from when the first woman fell, or broke away from God, and examining the resultant course that women since that time have had to undergo. Especially in religious history, she noted, women have been treated as second-class citizens. Even so, they played a significant role in biblical history, though they were not fully recognized for it.

After a brief break, Dr. Moon, upon request, shared about her working together for so many years with our founders, Father and Mother Moon, who had raised her up personally since the age of 12. USA members who long for TP were moved by hearing stories about the founders.

We thank Dr. Moon for her coming to the United States and for her sharing the love of our founders with us as well as her feelings from her own heart as our elder sister and beloved president, a position she will hold hopefully for many years to come!
