이스라엘 여성연합은 2011년 3월 8일 세계여성의 날을 기념하여 ‘사회에서의 평화 지도자로서의 여성의 역할 재검토’ 라는 주제로 서 텔아비브, 동 예루살렘, 북 나사렛과 남 베르셰바의 아랍인과 유대인 대표들이 예루살렘 홀리스틱 센터에 모였다.

미리 카말 전 회장(이스라엘 여성연합)의 사회, 로자 쉬뮤리 회장의 이임사, 누리트 스쿱인스키 회장의 취임사로 진행 되었다. 함께한 회원들은 3년 동안 여성연합 회장으로 헌신을 다해 온 이임하는 로자 쉬뮤리 회장에게 감사를 전했으며, 따뜻한 박수와 함께 참가한 회원들의 포옹을 받았다.

새로 임명된 누리트 스쿱인스키 회장은 “그 동안 여성연합 회장을 맡아온 전임자들에게 그동안 훌륭한 기초와 토대를 만들어 준데 감사를 전하며 그 토대 위에 성과를 올릴 수 있다고 믿는다”며 말씀을 전했다.

창설 된지 17주년이 되는 이스라엘 여성연합 회원 모두는 새로운 시작을 준비하고 나누는 시간이 되었다.

International Women's Day - WFWP Israel

On March 8, 2011, International Women's Day was celebrated by gathering of women in Jerusalem's holistic center. Our Arab and Jewish women representatives came in from Tel Aviv in the west, Jerusalem in the east, from Nazareth in the north and Be'er Sheba in the south. The main theme was: reexamining the role of women as peace leaders in society. The festive event was a great opportunity to install the new president of the Israeli chapter of WFWP.

The MC was Mrs. Miri Kamar, a former president of the WFWP, Israel, who opened the event giving tribute to Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, the founder and international president of WFWP. She went on to thank the outgoing president, Mrs. Rosa Shmueli, for her dedication in serving the cause of WFWP for three years. Mrs. Shmueli offered her gratitude and thanked everyone for their help. She received warm applause and was embraced by all the participants.

Dr. Nurit Skupinski, the incoming president, thanked all the former presidents in that position, and said: "On top of the solid foundation they have established, I believe a high building can be built." She brought the meeting to a conclusion by reading Mrs. Moon's heartwarming words, as written in her husband's autobiography, using it as a reminder of the standard we are all to follow.

After 17 years since the WFWP association was established in Israel, all shared a feeling of a new beginning.
