영국지부는 지난 6월 10일 ‘아프리카의 심정을 이해하자’라는 주제 하에 기념행사가 영국 버밍엄 123 본브럭가 (Bounbrook Road)에서 120명이 참석한 가운데 개최되었다.

금번 행사의 목적은 아프리카인들의 이야기와 간증을 듣고 콩고에 있는 여성들을 돕는 자선단체를 지원하고자 세계평화여성연합과 천주평화연합이 공동 주최한 행사이다.

아프리카 20개 나라에서 남성과 여성, 젊은이들이 을 기념하기 위해 참석했으며 또한 20개국 대표들뿐 아니라 유럽 나라에서 온 대표들과 주요 전통 신앙의 대표자들이 함께했다.

행사는 6명의 연설가들이 차례로 나와 그들 나라의 현실과 어려움들에 대해 발표하는 시간으로 진행되었다. 참석자들은 이번 행사가 미니 UN의 모임이라고 부르기에 충분하다고 말했다.

Commemorating the United Nations Day for Africa

On June 10, the event of commemorating the United Nations Day of Africa held under theme of understanding the heart of Africa at 123 Bournbrook Road

The purpose of event was that to hear stories and testimonies from African people and to support a charity helping women in the Congo. This event holds jointly WFWP and UPF attending 120 people.

Men, women and young people from 20 different African nations gathered at 123 Bournbrook Road, Birmingham in June, to recognize the United Nations Day for Africa.

People from a number of European countries and representatives from all the major faith traditions were among the audience. It was certainly, enough variety to call ourselves a mini-United Nations. 6 speakers presented about each nation’s reality and difficulties in order.
