2011년 9월 18일 “평화의 날” 행사가 Quatre-Bornes의 Municipal 홀에서 부모와 수양자녀들, 여성연합 회원들, 교사 그리고 특별 손님들을 모신 가운데 개최 되었다.

'평화의 날' 행사는 여성연합 회원들과 교사들이 국가를 재창하는 것으로써 시작되었다.

모리셔스 여성연합 지부장인 Myriam Narainsamy씨의 축사와 지난 일년간의 여성연합의 활동 사례들을 보고하는 시간을 가졌다.

Sheela Mathur 이사(여성연합)는 첫 번째 연설자인 Mahen Thanoo씨를 소개했고 그는 ‘평화는 나 개인으로 출발해서 가정과 사회 그리고 세계평화로 확대된다’는 내용으로 연설하였다..

두 번째 연설자는 Jhurry 박사로 국무총리와의 공식적인 모임을 취소하고 참석하여 “우리는 배우기를 절대 멈추지 않는다”라는 말을 인용하여 평화와 나눔에 대해 끊임없는 관심을 보여야 한다“고 말했고 연설이 끝날 때 마다 아이들이 준비한 노래와 기타 연주 등의 공연이 이어졌다.

마지막 연사는 여성연합의 친구이며 후원인인 Ramdenee씨이며 “우리의 세계는 사람들의 이기심으로 인간애와 동정심을 잃어버리고 힘과 부를 잘못 이용하고 있기 때문에 평화롭지 못하다”고 그의 견해를 밝혔다. 마지막 공연은 여성연합 교사들의 힌두 댄스였고 함꼐한 차마석자들은 모두가 즐거운 시간을 보냈다.

Report for “Peace Day Celebration”of 18 September 2011.

The Peace Day was held at The Municipal Hall of Quatre-Bornes in the presenc e of parents and the foster children, WFWP members and tutors and special guests

The `Peace Day Celebration’ started with WFWP members and tutors singing the National Anthem.

Miss Myriam Narainsamy, WFWP Vice President officially opened the `Peace Day Celebration` thanking all the guests, parents and children, members and tutors present for this special Day of Peace and gave a brief account of WFWP activities and success throughout the years.

Our Vice President speech was followed by an exquisite dance performed by the tutors and the children.

Mrs. Sheela Mathur, WFWP executive member then introduced our guest, Mr. Mahen Thanoo of ‘Brama Kumari’ who spoke of peace beginning within oneself first to then expanding to our family, society and World Peace.

WFWP executive member, then announced the next dance. This dance with candle light by the tutors and the children with background music of love and Peace was captivating, performed so gracefully.

Our second orator was Dr. Jhurry. He said he was supposed to attend an official function with The Prime Minister, but having known our organisation for so many years and because the theme was ‘Peace Day’ he opted to attend this special event, not as The advisor of The Prime Minister, but as a simple citizen of Mauritius to convey some words of Peace and share this special moment with us and equally came to learn with all of us as he quoted “We never stop learning”.

The children then sang a Creole song with accompaniment of musical instrument by the children themselves.

Mrs. Vidula Rahiman, WFWP Executive member then introduced WFWP`s friend, sponsor and auditor, Mr. Ramdenee who expressed his views as to why our world is not at peace, due to people`s selfishness, greed for power and wealth, leading to losing their humanity and compassion. The next performance was a Hindu dance by WFWP tutors Samantha, Bhavna and Lutchmee delighting the audience dancing with Divali clay lamps.
