지난 2011년 10월 15일, 국제적 프로그램인 러시아와 그루지아간 ‘자매결연’행사가 모스크바에서 열렸다.

이 프로그램의 목적은 양국가간의 관계를 더욱 따뜻하고 친밀하게 만들기 위함이었다. 2008년에 심각한 긴장관계에 직면했던 적이 있음에도 불구하고 상호간에 협조와 발전을 위해 제안한 자리였다.

이번 프로그램은 ‘여성연합’과 러시아에 있는 그루지아 여성 커뮤티와 국제 여성 클럽에서 공동 주최한 것이다.

러시아와 그루지아의 양국 대표자들은 서로가 평화롭고 협조하기를 바라는 마음으로 함께 모였다.

1부에서는 러시아와 그루지아의 존경받는 여성들의 강의를 들었다. 그 후에 손에 손을 잡고 과거의 일에 대한 사과와 용서 그리고 협조와 지지의 마음을 표현하는 시간을 가졌다. 특히 이번 행사에서는 양국의 어린이들이 함께 동참하였기에 더욱 의미 있는 식이 되었다.

2부 프로그램에서는 콘서트가 준비되었고, 양국의 아름다운 문화에 대해 감상하는 시간이 되었다.

3부에서는 함께한 모든 여성들이 양국의 통일을 상징하는 아름다운 노래를 부르고 춤을 추며 화합의 마음을 다지며 이날의 행사를 끝마쳤다.

Bridge of Peace between Russia and Georgia

On October, 15 2011 an international program “Bridge of Peace” between Russia and Georgia was held in Moscow. The goal of this program was to establish warmer and friendlier relationships between our two countries, to promote the ideas of tolerance and to develop intercultural cooperation in spite of the war conflict in 2008 that created a serious tension.

This program was organized by “Women’s Federation for World Peace”, The Women Committee of the Georgian Union in Russia and the International Women’s Club.

Women of Russia and Georgia as representatives of their countries gathered together in order to express their search and desire for peace and cooperation. As wives and mothers they really strive to revive warm close friendly relationships which our countries used to have before. We want to really support each other and to work together in order to help our world to become better.  We want to do our best to strengthen moral and family values in our countries and want to help our young people to become good friends and to take part in joint projects for the sake of welfare of our society.

In the first part of the program we could listen to some speeches of respected women of Russia and Georgia. After that women hand in hand passed through the arc of Peace expressing their sincere desire to forgive, to support and to cooperate.  It was also meaningful that Russian and Georgian children could also take part in this beautiful ceremony.

After that there was a concert program that reflected the beauty of Russian and Georgian culture.

At the end of the program all women sang a beautiful song and joined in a dance, that symbolized unity between our two countries.
